Technologist and historian. He was taught rhetoric at the Asian School, and after the end of the civil war (30 BC), he went to Rome, already 25 years old. He stayed there for 22 full years, learned the Latin language, and became friends with many prominent Roman senators. He had special patrons Rufus Melitius and Aelius Tuveron. He was mainly concerned with writing the history of Rome, but he did not neglect the teaching of rhetoric, which he practiced as a profession. It is not known if he remained in Rome after the completion of this historical writing (8th year BC), where else he went and how long he lived.
