TIMO

Greek Skeptic philosopher and writer. Timo, poor in his youth, earned his living as a dancer. Later he studied under Megareus Stilpon and Helios Pyrron. The lectures he gave brought him fame and wealth, so that in 275 BC retired from Athens and engaged in writing. Only fragments of his works survive. He wrote numerous prose plays, tragedies, satirical dramas, comedies, poems, and sillos —sarcastic attacks on dogmatic philosophers in parody of heroic hexameters.
