BEGINNING OF PHILOSOPHY IS ADMIRATION

The first to use the word philosophy was Pythagoras who called himself philosopher. Greek philosophy is the premier and began with Orpheus in Thraca, and with Linen in Thebes. Next ancient philosopher was Mouseus from Athens, who first wrote about Theogony and Sphere.

Philosophy that began with Pythagoras was named Italian, because Pythagoras practised philosophy mainly in Italy. Philosophy that began with Anaximandros was named Ionian, because the teacher of Anaximandros, Thales, was from Ionia - he came from Miletus.

Ancient philosophy is classified into three parts: natural, moral, dialectic. Socrates initiated the moral philosophy. In moral philosophy there were ten schools: Academic, Cyrenaic, Ilician, Megarian, Cynical, Eretrian, Dialectic, Peripatetic, Stoic, Epicurian.
