LACYDES

Cyrene, 3rd century B.C.

A follower of the doctrines of Skeptic philosophy, who nevertheless became the successor of Arcesilaus in the Platonic academy in 241-240 BC. In Athens he received great honors from Attalus. Telecles, Evandros, Chrysippus, and others are listed as his students.
